On a cold February day, we visited Maryland Recycle to recycle all of the pop-tops we have been collecting. We took a quick tour of the facility to learn about what items they recycle and how they process the materials. The girls estimated we had collected 17 pounds of aluminum pop-tops. We actually had 20 pounds!!! We will send the money we received for our collection to the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore (RMH). On a tour of the RMH last year, the girls had the opportunity to see the outstanding services the RMH provides to sick children.

After the recycling center, we went to the Elkridge Fire House. The Scouts made valentines for the fire fighters and delivered boxes of Girl Scout cookies that we had collected during our annual cookie sale. The firefighters showed us all of the equipment they carry on their large trucks.
